Unlike the floaty, ambient nature of the companion EP "3," the music presented on "Striped" is driven by structure, beats, and the assertive nature of techno. Strange ideas, haunting sounds, and deep grooves permeate these tracks, but are still driven by my fascination with the extended and extensive timbral changes that synthesizers permit. Maybe call it "chromatic techno", as I'm chasing the color of techno here, more than the definition or any hope of getting these in the club!

These tracks are inspired more by Bootsy Collins, Rhythm and Sound, Luke Vibert, Piero Umilliani, and Lindsey Herbert than the vague manifestations of "sound art" of "3." Choices in structure, grooves, and sounds in "Striped" were often a direct result of listening to these artists and wanting to capture some of those same feelings in my own creative context.
